I. What are banner ads?
Banner ads allow you to attract customers to a specific product or page regardless of what page they are on.
Why use Wrench Professionals banner ads? We are much cheaper than google and facebook. Your banner ads will be shown exclusively to customers looking for automotive services. That means you are not wasting your time and money on people who do not care about servicing their vehicles. With our ads system you have the ability to advertise directly in front of already interested customers.
II. What are the 4 types and sizes of banner ads?
LEADERBOARD 768 x 90
LARGE MOBILE 320 x 100
SQUARE 250 x 250
SPONSORED LINKS 320 x 100
Each ad is shown in a specific place and on specific pages.
III. Leaderboard ad preview
As you can see, the leaderboard ad uses a good amount of space and easily attracts your attention. You will see this ad right above important information.
When using a mobile device, this ad will shrink in size to fit the mobile screen.
IV. Large mobile ad preview
Large mobile ads are extremely popular. They look great on any device. Large mobile ads work best on mobile devices. Mobile advertisements are the fastest growing marketing industry. With over 90% of the United State using mobile devices instead of computers, you should consider mobile ads.
V. Square ad preview
Depending on the design of your ad, you might want to choose the 250 x 250 square ad. It looks great on both computers and mobile devices and squeezes into specific places.
VI. Sponsored links ad preview
Sponsored links may not be visually appealing, but they are extremely powerful. The links help build credibility to your articles, listings, events, classifieds, and any other link you would like to direct your customers to.

Remember how we keep showing you how to do SEO and how we tell you it’s extremely important? Sponsored links are picked up by Google, Bing, and Yahoo search engines.
If you use a sponsored link to direct customers to your website or your listing, you will in act boost your ratings in the search results. These are called “Backlinks” and backlinks are one of the most important deciding factors the Google uses to determine how credible your website or articles are. The more links you have pointing to your website or listing, the more Google thinks your website or listing is important.
1. Where to begin?
To begin creating your first banner ad on Wrench Professionals, Click the RED “SPONSOR ARE” button in the top right.
2. Log in to your account
Wrench Professionals gives you the options to log in with Google, Facebook, or Email.
**If you created your account with Google, or Facebook, we highly recommend you continue to log in that way.
If you created an account with your email and password, enter your information then click “Log In” when you are ready to continue.
3. Your dashboard
Your dashboard is going to look different than ours because we are already using many of Wrench Professional’s advertising products.
When you are ready, click on the red link “Add Banner” to get started.
4. Choose banner type.
Your first step is to choose which type of banner you would like to build. Each banner will show its size next to it.
** Remember you need to create your banner and make sure it is the correct size. If you need help creating and designing a banner please email the management team (firstname.lastname@example.org) We will be happy to assist you.
If we get enough requests, we will make a banner tutorial for you to follow and create using a free design online software.
For this Tutorial we will be using the “Leaderboard” style banner.
5. Add caption and choose order type
Your caption is what you choose to name your banner, this will help you locate it in your dashboard if you decide to create more than one ad banner.
It’s best to be specific with your caption. If you are advertising a special tire event, a good example would be “Tire leaderboard banner”. This way you will know immediately that this is your “Tire” and “leaderboard style” banner.
Your next step is to decide if you want to pay a monthly fee, or pay per amount of impressions.
For this tutorial we will use the “By time period” option.
6. Banner impressions
An impression is when a customer sees your banner. Depending on the area and the amount of users online, your banner could be shown 10 times up to 1000 times in a single day.
When you run out of your set amount of impressions the ad will simply stop showing up until you renew it again, giving you more control of your ad. You can use impressions to help you decide the effectiveness of your ad, if it’s shown 1000 times and you only get 10 clicks on your ad, you might want to change your ad to get more clicks.
For this tutorial, we will not be using “Impressions”. Please make sure you click the “By time period” option before continuing on to the next step.
7a. General page ads
When you select “General Pages” your banner ad will show on every ”General” page, including Home pages, Contact Us page, and Advertise with us page.
We will go over “Open in a new window” on step 8.
For this tutorial we will use the “General Pages” section.
7b. Listing page ads
If you select “Listing Pages” you will be able to choose a specific category for your banner ad. This will keep you from wasting your monthly ad or impressions on pages you do not want people seeing your ad.
7c. Deals page ads
If you are advertising a deal, or want your ad to show up in our deals section, simply select the “Deal” option and choose a category that best matches your deal ad.
7d. Events page ads
If you are advertising an event, or want your ad to show up in our events section, simply select the “Event” option and choose a category that best matches your Event ad.
7e. Classified page ads
If you are advertising a classified, or want your ad to show up in our classified section, simply select the “Classified” option and choose a category that best matches your classified ad.
7f. Article page ads
If you are advertising an article, or want your ad to show up in our articles section, simply select the “Article” option and choose a category that best matches your article ad.
7g. Blog page ads
If you want your banner ad to show up in our blog section, simply select the “Blog” option and choose a category that best matches your ad.
Our blog is run by our management team, we will not allow unrelated advertisements to show on our blog page, the blog is meant for updates, news, help, and tutorials such as this one.
If you choose to use our blog for your banner ad and your ad is declined, it’s because it does not fit our blog information.
8. New window and destination URL
Remember, for this tutorial we will use the “General Pages” section.
First, let's set your destination URL. This is the actual page or website you want your customers to visit when they click on your banner ad. For training purposes, we set our URL to take people directly to our “Business sign up” page where they can sign up for banner ads.
We will change this to link to our tutorial when we put this tutorial on the blog.
Open in a new window?
Choose “YES” If your destination URL is for your website of a page that is not on WrenchProfessionals.com This will open your website or in a new window and keep people from losing their spot on WrenchProfessionals.com
Choose “NO” If your destination URL is part of WrenchProfessionals.com. This will instantly take your potential customer directly to one of your Wrench Professionals listings or products without them needing to open another window.
9. Add your banner ad file
When you are ready to add your banner ad, click the black “Choose file” button and locate your banner ad.
**Remember to select to correct size banner ad.
Select your photo and click the “Open” button to continue.
10. Add your one-time promo code and save 20%

Click “SAVE” when you are ready to continue.
11. Your dashboard and how to pay for your banner ad
As you can see on your dashboard, there is now a section for your new banner ad. It will show your caption name and the type of banner.
You have the options to view stats, edit your banner, and remove your banner.
When you are ready click the red circled link “Click here to pay for your banner”.
12. Payment options
You can see that we have quite a lot going on in our billing section.
Scroll down until you see your “Banner section” the font should be orange every time you add a new item to your account before paying for it.
If you followed our tutorial steps and selected the “Monthly fee option” you will have the ability to save more money by choosing a yearly plan.
After you selected your payment plan, click the “By PayPal” Option.
For best business practices, we prefer to use PayPal for transactions. If you selected “by PayPal' and do not have a PayPal account, you will be given the opportunity to create an account during checkout.
When you are ready, click the red “NEXT” button.
13. Verify and go to PayPal
As you can see, the STUDY20 code dropped 20% off the price bringing it to only $12.00 a month for the Leaderboard style banner.
After you verify the information is complete, click the red “Pay By PayPal” button to continue to PayPal’s secure checkout.
14. Verify information and log in to PayPal
The PayPal secure checkout page will show you the prices and ask you to either “Log In” if you already have a PayPal account.
If you do not have a PayPal account, you can create a free account by clicking “credit or debit card”. You will be taken to a page that allows you to create a free and secure PayPal account.
We will be clicking the “Log In” button because we already have a PayPal account.
15. Log in to PayPal
Enter your log in information and click the blue “Log In” button.
16. Agree and pay
After you have successfully logged into your PayPal account, you can verify all the information is correct and where you will be transferring funds from.
When you are ready, click the “Agree and Pay” button.
17. Finish PayPal
This page will show you that the transaction was successful.
Click “Finish” to be taken back to a WrenchProfessionals.com confirmation page.
When you reach this point, our management team will view your article and approve it for public display. You will receive an email every time we approve your articles and listings. This can take up to 2 business days depending on the amount of products awaiting approval.
Everytime you edit the article or listing we will need to approve the changes.
